A tribute to COCO

Having read the first reviews of the Coco before Chanel movie, it was inevitable to think about her as a fashion icon. What is intriguing and in the same time enchanting about Coco is the fact that after so many years have passed her style is wearable in present times. There is no sense of out-dating or being old fashioned and this is, I believe, why she is one of the most important designers in the history of fashion.

The success of Chanel as a label today, besides on Karl Lagerfeld's immense talent, can be attributed to his ability to keep the essence of Coco's style that everyone loved so much. The colors and materials that don't paint the picture, but perfectly fit within and build elegant, groomed, but in the same time easy to carry look. In Coco's clothes women remain to be women but they are not slaves to what they wear.

Coco left behind many classical pieces, like the quilted 2.55 bag, the little black dress, the classic suit, pearls worn with almost everything.... These pieces are part of the wardrobe of the most stylish women today.
